Flying High

On Success. 

Even legendary Pokemon can be distracted by a Pokemon they have a weakness to. The trainer tapped a rhythm into Kammo's shoulders and he gestured to his companions to pass on the signal. The Swanna swooped underneath the Reshiram, putting herself into what might have been a dangerous position if the legendary could have had a moment to capitalize on the position shift. 

It began preparing an Extrasensory attack to take down its water type enemy but was smacked in the back of the head by the Fearow's feet which then raked across its tender ears. It snapped upwards but only captured loose feathers from a Featherdance status booster. It then took a Gale Wing-boosted Brave Bird to the throat from the powerful enemy Talonflame. It choked as its airway took terrible damage from the attack and struggled to stay airborne on less and less oxygen. 

The Legendary began to fall, attempts to guide its decent growing feebler each moment. Kammo dove after it, signalling the others to draw close. Kammo seized its shoulders in his talons and continued to fall with his prey as his teammates took their places. The smaller Swanna snapped up one of the Legendary Pokemon's hair tendrils in her beak and the Fearow took up the other, just barely avoiding fouling his wings in Kammo's. The fireproof Talonflame took his place at the legendary's tail, seizing a tail-ring with his feet. 

The trainer, seeing everyone at their place, tapped again and Kammo called out with a haunting hunting cry. His teammates extended their wings in unison, forcing the plunging Legendary from its near free-fall into a controlled glide.

It would be a pity after all, if their prey died from a fall after all their work to weaken it for live capture had been so successful.

Pokemon and trainer- watercolors and colored pencil. Background created with Photo Impact Pro 13. (I feel it is a clumsy tool, but I no longer have access to Photoshop and it is better than nothing. The background turned out well enough. Supposedly it can also handle RAW photos, which will be valuable.) Background finished 5/31/15.
